Progress in Sight - Bulletin for Professionals

SAVI’s bulletin for professionals is not only for the people we provide eye care services for but for agencies that may not know precisely what we do and who may wish to know more about commissioning work to support people with a sensory disability.   It is produced every two months and we encourage readers to take up our offer to attend our professional seminars or simply call us for a personal look around our offices.  I hope that you find the content interesting – please let us know what you think.

Newsletters for the community and volunteers

SAVI produce two newsletters each quarter. One is mainly for Surrey's visually impaired people and the other is for our volunteers. Read below about both of these newsletter and how to receive them.

Lines of Sight - Summer Edition now available

SAVI's free quarterly newsletter, Lines of Sight, which is downloadable in print from this page, is also produced in many different formats to suit people's individual reading needs. It is available in Large Print (18 font), average font (12 font), via e-mail, on CD and is now available as an mp3 download too. It is produced in February, May, August and November. Anyone can request a copy but it is mainly directed at people who have a visual impairment, their carers and professionals who offer support to visually impaired people.

Autumn 2008 large print version (PDF) or Autumn 2008 MP3 Version

Winter 2008 large print version (PDF) or Winter 2008 MP3 Version

Spring 2009 large print version (PDF) or Spring 2009 MP3 Version

Summer 2009 large print version (PDF) or Summer 2009 MP3 Version

The newsletter not only has information about services from SAVI, but also includes news about issues locally and nationally that would be helpful for a visually impaired person to know about. This can range from financial help, practical help, new products, events, people's comments, items to sell, and we often have contributions from other organisations wishing to be in contact with people with sight loss.

If you wish to receive this newsletter ring SAVI on 01372 377 701 or e-mail info@sa-vi.org.uk and request which format you wish to receive it and address to send it to.

Help in Sight

This is the quarterly SAVI volunteer newsletter. The Volunteer Co-ordinator distributes this newsletter at the same time as Lines of Sight. It goes out to all the volunteers on SAVI's books unless they have a specific reason not to receive it. It is an important way to keep the volunteers in touch with what is happening with the Volunteer Department and prevents the feeling of isolation for the workers in the field.
